How to Commission a Piece of Artwork
Commissioning a piece of artwork is a truly exciting and unique process. It is a bespoke service which allows the buyer and artist to work closely together in realising a dream or idea.

It is a real privilege to help create an artwork specifically for a special person, place or moment in time and is something I really enjoy. Carefully done, I always hope to create an outcome that exceeds expectations.

The Process
GET IN TOUCH
If you are interested in commissioning a unique piece of art, please get in touch via email with a brief outline of your ideas or thoughts. You might like to include your ideas on content, theme, colours and whether it would be an abstract or realistic image.
I will then get in touch to arrange a time to chat through your ideas, make some initial sketches and help clarify the practicalities of how and when the artwork can be done.

PROPOSAL
Once this initial conversation has happened, I will send you a written proposal that includes the agreed size, price & timescale for the work. This will also specify the medium to be used (oils, acrylics, inks, watercolours etc) and whether it will be done on canvas / paper / board.

PAYMENT & PRICING
On agreement with the details in the proposal, a 50% deposit is required. The final balance will be payable on completion of the artwork. The price of each artwork is based on the type of materials used, size of work, time needed to complete it and the complexity of the work.

LENGTH OF TIME
The commissioned piece will aim to be finished within 2-3 months of starting. Timescales can vary depending on existing workloads and types of materials used (e.g. some art materials require longer drying times) and this will be explained/agreed at the start.

THE FINISHED PIECE!
As soon as the painting is finished, I will get in contact to arrange a final viewing. You have the option to view and collect the painting from the studio or we can arrange to have the painting delivered to your home.
“Thank you very much for all you have done… (It looks as if the painting has come home) It has indeed. We love it!”
